Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to sail around the world, seemingly without a care, knowing that our homes, our vehicles and vessels, and our incomes and life savings are properly protected by insurance? But when a business owner or an individual says, "I am fully covered," the reality is that they often misunderstand what their policies will do for them. And this can — and does — get folks into trouble at precisely the wrong time. Max Herr Insurance Services is dedicated to seeing that insurance consumers identify and appreciate their risk exposures and are properly insured. This includes making sure they fully understand the insurance coverages they currently have, how they work, what is and is not covered, and closing any coverage gaps that have inadvertently been left exposed.
Sometimes these coverage shortfalls are the result of inexperienced, careless, or poorly trained agents, improper insurance company policy interpretations, or deliberate bad acts, faulty product design, or unfair or fraudulent business practices . . . and they have caused real people to lose real money. Max Herr is working to prevent these things from happening, and to help folks obtain restitution and other satisfactions after they've been discovered.
Max has a Master's degree in Communications from California State University, Fullerton, and a Bachelor's degree from California Baptist University in Riverside, CA. First licensed as a Life & Disability Insurance Agent in 1980, he is also a licensed Property & Casualty Broker-Agent, and holds the prestigious California Life & Disability Insurance Analyst's license — one of only 28 such persons in the entire state.
Since September 2000, Max has taught courses in life and health insurance, property and casualty insurance, and securities. As a Subject Matter Expert, he provides curriculum design and editorial services to national insurance and securities educational providers for both print and web-based learning environments.
On January 21, 2014, California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones appointed Max to a three-year term as a member of the Department of Insurance Curriculum Board. Members of this prestigious body, in close cooperation with career employees of the Department of Insurance Producer Licensing Bureau, establish educational objectives for the various prelicensing courses and examinations required by each of license types issued by the Commissioner, as well as subject matter outlines for various continuing education courses required for license renewals. Max will be representing the interests of Agents and Brokers as a Subject Matter Expert in Life Insurance, Accident and Health Insurance, and Property and Casualty Insurance.
